Leon Andersen grew up in Glennagross park, Moyross
Limerick, later renamed Whitecross gardens. He grew up with his Mother,
Father, 3 brother and 2 sisters .
From an early
age all Leon wanted was to be famous. So when he was 13 he joined a
dance school and was thought how to perform by Philip “Scally” Scanlon.
With his new dance shoes on he became all Ireland dance champion in ‘94
with a dance troupe called Free Foundation and regaining that title in
‘95. Over the next few years he had won 7 Munster championships and
several limerick trophies. In 96 he was approached and asked to dance
for the dance nation tour that was being held in nightclubs all over
the country. He was also busy being a member of band such as the Celtic
Crew and Just This Beat. Singing dancing and writing songs is what he
lived for. In ‘97 he made a big decision. He found out he was going to
be a dad so he put away his dancing shoes to concentrate on giving his
kids his time and attention.
It was when he was 20 he saw American Magician David
Blaine perform a new style of tricks called "Street Magic". He was
bitten by the fame bug again.
Leon has dedicated hours and hours of practice to perfect
his new found interest, and it all paid of in 2006 when he became I.B.M
Magician of the year with the top award for showmanship an award that
hadn’t been giving out in 4 years before. Leon has made a name and a
market for himself in Ireland and will always be proud of his roots.
